Building Entrepreneurial Skills for Resource Collectors – Business Plan Development Training in Ja-Ela

As part of Activity Building Entrepreneurial Skills for Resource Collectors under the PHINLA II Project, Janathakshan successfully conducted Business Entrepreneurship Training Programs in Ja-Ela for Resource Collectors and the MRF operator of Ja-Ela.

The training focused on:

  • Developing entrepreneurial skills and motivation for business
  • Introduction to business plans and their key components
  • Practical guidance on developing business plans using the existing format

Resource Collectors (RCs) have now been given two weeks to prepare and submit their business plans. Follow-up sessions, scheduled for early August, will provide an opportunity for RCs to:

  • Present their business plans
  • Receive expert feedback
  • Fine-tune their business targets and strategies

The participants found the training highly valuable and motivating, with many appreciating the practical approach in shaping their entrepreneurial journey.

Through these capacity-building initiatives, Janathakshan continues to support RCs and MRFs in building stronger, more sustainable businesses, contributing to both community development and the circular economy.

Together, we are building stronger community structures to transform waste into opportunity and promote lasting sustainability.
