‘Promoting protection and solidarity for climate migrants and displaced communities in South Asia’ was a project aims to promote protection and solidarity for climate migrants and displaced communities in South Asia through evidence-gathering, research analysis and knowledge building on climate migration and engaging with policymakers and the media to increase awareness of issues and spread policy recommendations. This project was funded by Bread For the World and lead by Climate Action Network South Asia (CANSA) and the project operated in 05 South Asian Countries namely India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Janathakshan Gte Ltd implemented the project in Sri Lanka as the national partner for Sri Lanka. A participatory research and a policy research on the above subject was conducted under the project and case stories were gathered and compiled to support the research findings. Research findings were analyzed and compiled and presented in a format of a national study report and shared through a national workshop and the relevant policy makers were lobbied separately through one to one meetings. The project period was 1.5 years starting from January 2019 to August 2020.
